- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C
Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled brown butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar
Mix until well combined
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition
Stir in the vanilla extract
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined
Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan
In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping
Sprinkle the mixture over the cookie dough
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set
Remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan on a wire rack
Once cooled, cut into bars and enjoy
