This Strawberry Almond Tea Cake Tart combines the delightful flavors of fresh strawberries, almond, and buttery crust into a delicious dessert perfect for tea time or any special occasion.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C
In a food processor, pulse together all-purpose flour, almond flour, sugar, butter, egg, almond extract, and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan
Spread strawberry jam over the bottom of the tart shell
Arrange sliced strawberries over the jam
Sprinkle sliced almonds over the top of the strawberries
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the strawberries are softened
Allow to cool before slicing and serving
