Ingredients:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals until smooth, stirring between each interval
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt
In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined
Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and mix until smooth
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and mix until a thick batter forms
If using, fold in the chopped walnuts
Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies have a shiny, crackled appearance and are set around the edges
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
